YARD BY YARD: A Community Resiliency Project

Project Overview

The yard revolution has begun! Thank you for your interest in becoming a good steward of your piece of Earth!  Urban citizens do not always realize what a big difference they can make in our communities with the addition of even a few “earth friendly” practices.  Through our Yard by Yard Community Resiliency Project, you will find not only support to do the right things for your yard and community, but also recognition for your efforts and the chance to encourage others.  Whole neighborhoods coming together for the greater good can absolutely add strength, health, and resilience to our city. Wonderful and impactful things will happen. You will get to enjoy wildlife neighbors like birds, butterflies, and bees. You will cut down on the amount of waste going into a landfill. You will enjoy the blossoms of native plants. You will savor the taste of home-grown fruits and vegetables. You will improve the health of your soil, and conserve our most precious resource of all: water.

Your individual stewardship efforts contribute to a greater movement reclaiming our connection to the Earth one yard at a time. We can’t wait to see the impact of this great project with your help in our communities!
