Students Invited to Apply for Mike Thralls Memorial Scholarship

The Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts is proud to announce that applications are now being accepted for the third annual "Mike Thralls Memorial Scholarship." Thralls was an unwavering steward of the land who loved Oklahoma and was committed to preserving her natural resources. Thralls was a graduate of Oklahoma State University who went on to serve as Oklahoma Assistant Secretary of Agriculture and Executive Director of the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. In his memory, OACD will be awarding two $500 scholarships in April 2018.

Conservation Movie Night to offer Free Screenings at the Poncan Theatre

The Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts, No-till on the Plains and USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Services are teaming up to host a free film night for the public on Monday December 18, 2017 at the Poncan Theatre.

Doors will open at 6 pm with the screenings beginning at 7 pm.

Sand County Foundation, in partnership with the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation, ITC Holdings Corp. and The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, is proud to announce Emmons Farm as the recipient for the inaugural Oklahoma Leopold Conservation Award®, which honors Oklahoma landowner achievement in voluntary stewardship and management of natural resources.

OACD Auxiliary Awarding $3,000 Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Scholarship applicant must be a child or grandchild of a District Director/Manager, Conservation Employee, or NRCS  seeking a higher education at a Trade School, College or University.
  • Applicant must have an over all 2.5 Grade Point Average
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a Trade School, College or University by Fall of 2018
  • Applicant must be a full time student.

SCHOLARSHIP OBJECTIVE

  • The South Central Regional Auxiliary Scholarship is intended to encourage qualified students to increase their interest and  awareness of the mission of Conservation.
  • To pursue a career in their field of endeavor.
